-- Valdosta, Ga. -- January 31, 2013 --

One neighbor, Jerry French, said "this is terrible. They just popping out of the womb ready to fight with knives."

What started as a scuffle at school turned violent when two Valdosta teens got home Wednesday afternoon. The cops say both showed up ready to continue their fight, but one was armed with more than just his fists.

Commander Brian Childress of the Valdosta Police Department said "when the fight started, the fourteen year old actually pulled out the knife and stabbed and cut the fifteen year old five times. Fortunately, in this case, the fifteen year old was taken to South Georgia Medical Center and was released."

The fifteen year old is expected to make a full recovery, but the idea of people so young resorting to such violence has neighbors on edge.

Lynette Betlow lives in the area. She said "it's scary. I have two small children and you just want to live some where that you feel like your kids can be safe."

Commander Childress went on to say "we've charged the fifteen year old with battery for the assault on the fourteen year old and we've charged the fourteen year old with aggravated assault."

Both boys are still in thecustody of their parents. The Department of Juvenile Justice has been notified and both could serve time in a juvenile detention center.

The fight took place in the sixteen hundred block of Fresno Street. Because of their ages, the names of both teens are being withheld by police.
