Moultrie, GA -- May 15, 2012 --

Keith Laseter served in Iraq for Operation Desert Storm. When he got home, things fell apart.

"My path carried me down to drug addiction, attempted suicide, alcohol addiction, landed me in jail, prison, and homeless," said Laseter.

He revealed this while standing in front of a veteran's memorial in Moultrie. He is a Moultrie native and has turned his life around. He is now dedicated to helping veterans who return home and feel as lost as he did.

"We help soldiers transition back into society. Where they feel hopeless, lost, and alone we pick up where the VA left off," Laseter explained.

As co-founder of Bridging the Gap of Georgia, Laseter is committed to helping the 450,000 veterans in the Peach State. Bridging the Gap has a partnership with Microsoft that offers free help with computer skills and resume building to veterans Laseter's back in Moultrie hoping to get community support and one day open up a center there.

"It sounds like a tremendous program, and as much as our soldiers do for us, we should be ready to do something for them," said Cliff Kirbo who's law firm donated to Bridging the Gap.

"My vision is to have a residential center in every city in Georgia. Once we get that gap bridged, we can move on to other states," said Laseter.
