A Lowndes County man is behind bars following a fatal wreck that killed a woman early Saturday morning.
The Georgia State Patrol says Johnnie Dee Moore was driving a vehicle with three passengers around 3:30 that morning. They were on Twin Lakes Road near Loch Laurel Road.
The vehicle left the road, hit an embankment, and overturned, ejecting some of the passengers. One of the passengers, Victoria Hanson, was killed. Hanson was not wearing a seat belt. Another passenger was injured.
Moore has eight charges against him, two of them felonies. The worst of which is 1st degree homicide by vehicle.
According to the Lowdnes County Sheriff's Office the other individual charged in the fatal wreck in Lake Park over the weekend was Julie Troyer, Assistant Professor for VSU's Department of Psychology and Counseling. They say she was also charged with homicide by vehicle and possession of marijuana.
