The Mega Millions Jackpot is the largest lottery prize in the history of the world. $540 million is enough of a reason for many Floridians to cross into Georgia for their tickets.

Florida is one of six states that does not sell Mega Millions tickets. Florida residents found the solution after crossing the border. Donald Griffis came from Tampa.

Donald said "We realized on the news down there how big this jackpot was. We have a lotto, a multi-state lotto down there but it's not this big."

Another Florida resident, Justice McKay said "I have a lot of Facebook friends that told me to get tickets while I'm up here for them and bring them back. So I've got a lot of orders to fill today. So hopefully we'll win."

If you're playing the game the President and CEO of Georgia Lottery Corp., Margaret DeFrancisco, has some crucial information.

She says "When you buy your Mega Millions ticket please please please turn it over and sign it immediately. Because it is a bare instrument until it is presented to the lottery as the winning ticket."

So far over 20 million tickets have been purchased in Georgia.

Your chances of winning the jackpot are 1 in 175 million.
