There's nothing more tragic than a parent losing their child to disease. But one mother in Sparks, Georgia is trying to keep her daughter's memory alive with music.

Connie Taylor sings on a new Gospel CD for her daughter.

"Lacey had a short life, but she had a life full. She was diagnosed at the age of five," said Connie Taylor.

Eight years ago Lacey Elizabeth Taylor died from Leukemia at just ten years old.

The Taylors wanted a way to memorialize Lacey, so two years ago they decided to make their own Gospel CD. It's called "Brand New Angel". It just came out Friday, May 11th.

Connie took the name from one of her favorite song lyrics.

"A brand new angel in the choir and momma's goina hear her sing," Connie sang.

"Each of these songs has a special meaning," Connie said.

The CD is a compilation of five gospel songs that Connie hand-picked to honor her daughter. All proceeds will help pay for Cook County High School graduates to go to college.

"This is the year she (would have) graduated. So what better way to celebrate her class for graduating and also help another child that she would have wanted to help," Connie said.

The Taylors scraped together every dime they could afford to make the CDs. So how are sales?

"They're great. I've sold out. I'm fixing to have to reorder again," Connie said.
