Saturday, Norman Park, Georgia held it's Inaugural Veteran's Day Celebration. It was a time for families to honor those who have served in the military.

The kids had a chance to learn a thing or two about Veteran's Day. And Vets like Reese Cross who served in Vietnam sure appreciate that.

"It used to be everyone was required to serve if they were capable. And veterans aren't as common as they used to be so we're very appreciative that the country remembers that there are veterans," said Cross.

The Vets were treated to Barbecue dinners and a special ceremony. For the kids there were face painting, snacks and horse back riding.

"We don't do enough to honor them," Organizer Joyce Conger said about the veterans. "So this was their special day and we had a special program for them."

"They talked about letters, telegrams, things they got during the war," said Mayor Bruce Norton. "How difficult it was and what it means today for us to honor them."

So whether you're in your 70s or your just seven, everyone can find something to appreciate this Veteran's Day in Norman Park.
