"I'm excited to be here because it's fun," said one child attending the parade.

"Meeting all the different people and seeing the dancers. They're really good," said another child attending the parade when asked what their favorite part was.

This is the first time Thomasville resident, Dee Dee Beckham has brought her 2 year old granddaughter, Chloe, to the Rose Parade and says it's a special event for her family.

"I've been in thomasville now for about 12 to 13 years, but this was an event that my parents also came to years ago so, it kind of has sentimental meaning to me for that," Dee Dee Beckham, Rose Parade Attendee, said.

Thomasville, GA- For 92 years, Thomasville has welcomed thousands of visitors, from near and far, to the Rose City Show and Festival; and this year will be no exception.

"We estimate we will have around 30,000 people that will come to the festival over the three days of the event," said Sherri Nix, Thomasville's Tourism Coordinator.

Crews have spent most of the week setting up for the beloved celebration and organizers say, there is sure to be something there for everyone to enjoy!

"There's just every kind of wonderful food you can imagine," said Nix. "There's funnel cakes, hamburgers and just anything you can think of, along with some fine art exhibits and craft vendors; lots of activities for the children."

With large crowds expected and the Boston tragedy still fresh in people's minds, law enforcement officials say their main priority is making their presence known.

"We want to make sure we are seen by the citizens that are attending the event, as well as people who think they may want to cause problems," said Lt. Eric Hampton with the Thomasville Police Department.

Officers say they'll also be depending on folks in the crowd to help make sure a safe time is had by all. They're encouraging anyone who hears or sees anything suspicious to contact them immediately.

"No tip is too small," Lt. Hampton said. "Anything that is reported to us, we will investigate and check it out to see if it's legit or illegit."

Police say if you do see something suspicious, you can call 911 or use their new *TEXT A TIP* program to anonymously report something. To *TEXT A TIP* text THPD, followed by the message, to 274637.
