Quitman, GA - A mother and father are behind bars, accused of abusing their own kids.

Quitman police arrested Rafael Lopez-Inz and Alfa Chavez-Romero Wednesday for abusing their three sons who were all under age ten. They each went to Quitman Elementary School where staff discovered bruising on them and contacted the Division of Family and Children Services. Neighbors we talked to are stunned.

"When you see the kids out there playing, you never really know what's going on with them, you know what I'm saying. You just see them out there playing and you just think they're normal kids having a normal day. But inside somebody elses house you don't know what's going on," said Tonia Moore.

All three kids are currently in the custody of the state. The parents are each charged with multiple counts of Child Cruelty and Quitman Police say more charges are pending.
