Sex isn't just for the young. Across the US, statistics show STD cases among the elderly are on the rise.

There's more going on in retirement homes than just dominoes. Statistics from the state health department show AIDS and HIV cases among the elderly have steadily increased over the past 12 years.

Health experts are blaming the increase on a lack of education, a lack of screening and a weaker immune system.

"They don't have to worry about pregnancy, so a lot of older individuals are not worrying about pregnancy so they think, 'Well, I don't need to use a condom,' says Larry Shockley, an STD expert.

"Ummm, Mom, I think there's something that we need to talk about. You've talked about it with me, so I think it's my turn to talk about it with you," says Heather Pugh, an Oklahoma resident.

Health officials are now launching STD prevention programs catered to senior citizens.

Another prevention solution?

"The birds and the bees conversation" reversed.
