Stocks Finish Slightly Up After Early Gains

New York, NY (AP) - Stocks are finishing with modest gains after
pulling back from a rally that pushed prices near their highest
levels of the year.
Shares fell from early peaks Thursday after mixed news on
unemployment and signs that growth in China slowed in the third
Netflix rose nearly 13 percent. Bank of America fell another 3.3
percent on worries over how it handled foreclosures.
According to preliminary calculations, the Dow is up 39, or 0.5
percent, to close at 11,147. Earlier it had briefly climbed above
its highest closing level of the year.
The S&P 500 is up 2, or 0.2 percent, at 1,180, while the Nasdaq
is up 2, or 0.1 percent, at 2,460.
Volume on the New York Stock Exchange came to 1.1 billion
