Stocks Flat Despite Foreclosure Concerns

New York, NY (AP) - Stocks have made back almost all their earlier
losses and closed slightly lower, ending a four-day winning streak.
The Dow had fallen as much as 70 points on concerns about the
foreclosure practices at major banks including JP Morgan Chase and
Bank of America.
The banks, which are being investigated by state attorneys
general, have suspended foreclosures while they review whether they
were complying with the law when they foreclosed on delinquent
Gold hit another record high, trading as high as $1,373 an
ounce. The dollar fell to its lowest level since December against
other currencies.
According to preliminary data, the Dow fell 2 points, or 0.01
percent, to close at 11,095. The Standard and Poor's 500 index fell
4, or 0.4 percent, to 1,174, while the Nasdaq composite is down 6,
or 0.2 percent, at 2,435.
