Stocks Trade in Tight Range; End Day Mixed
New York, NY (AP) - Stocks are ending mixed at the close of a busy
week of earnings news.
The Dow is slightly down Friday, while the broader Standard and
Poor's 500 index and the Nasdaq are ending with gains.
Shares traded in a tight range as investors turned their
attention to a meeting of finance ministers from the Group of 20 in
Korea. The group will be discussing issues that could affect global
trade.
The Dow Jones industrial average is down 14, or 0.1 percent, to
close at 11,133. The S&P 500 is up 3, or 0.2 percent, at 1,183,
while the Nasdaq composite is up 20, or 0.8 percent, at 2,379.
Volume on the New York Stock exchange was very light at 772
million shares.
