Tallahassee, FL --

TCC President Jim Murdaugh recently announced that he will not reccommend a tuition increase for the 2012 - 2013 academic year.

The announcement came even after the Florida Legislature authorized an up to five percent increase in tuition for colleges statewide.

"I mean it makes me feel good, it makes me feel like the president is actually on the student's side as far as he's not just into it as far as the business side of the school and everything, I feel like he's more concerned," said student Keon Kennedy.

"I live on my own, I have my own living expenses: rent, utilities, etc., so anything I can save money on, especially tuition, eases the strain of being on your own," added student Nick Douglas.

Current TCC tuition is about $97 per credit hour for in state residents and about $374 per credit hour for out of state.
