Train Accident in Cook County Kills Two, Four Others Sent to Hospitals

[UPDATE] -- Lenox, GA -- May 13, 2012 --

New information has been released on the car that was hit by a train in Lenox Georgia. Two people were killed in the incident, according to the Cook County coroner. They were 5 year old Lazavious Blackman... and his uncle 21 year old Keon Edwards Blackman.

The incident happened on Friday 5/11/12. The other 4 passengers included 3 more children all under the ages of 7... as well as their mother Princess Gamble. There was no barrier or flashing light on the road where the car was hit... Which concerns some citizens.

According to the coroner, the uncle was taking the children to Miami to spend the summer with their father.

Lenox, GA -- May 11, 2012 --

A train hits a car on railroad tracks killing three people. his happened in Lenox, Georgia, just northwest of Valdosta.

A family of six was in that car. Three died, but the other three were injured.

One person who lives near the tracks says the train did not blow its alarm whistle.

It struck the car on East College Avenue and Railroad Street, and dragged the car about three hundred yards down the track.

One of the passengers was airlifted to a hospital in Macon, Georgia.

Other passengers were taken to hospitals in Valdosta and Tifton.

The conditions of those taken to hospitals are not known at this time. The names of the victims have not been released at this time.
