Valdosta Police Investigating Armed Robbery

On May 21, 2014 at approximately 3:05 pm the Valdosta Police Department responded to the China Café, 2535 N. Ashley Street, in reference to an armed robbery. Officers arrived and spoke to employee, Amy Chan, who indicated that while she was working at the cash register an African American male entered the business brandishing a handgun and demanded money. Chan advised that she gave the offender money from the register and he left on foot. Officers and detectives responded to the area, but were unable to locate the offender. The only description available for the offender is that he was an African American male wearing dark colored clothing and that he had something covering his face. No one was injured during the incident. The case is under investigation.
