Valdosta, GA - Shari Bell, 28 year old African American female was arrested by Valdosta Police Department officers for involvement in a recent internet scam in Valdosta.

The scam took place over the past two months in which French Bulldog puppies were advertised for sale and money was solicited through Western Union for the purchase of the puppies.

Victims sent money via Western Union to Bell for the purchase of the puppies, however, Bell did not actually have puppies for sale.

The incidents were investigated by the Valdosta Police Department Bureau of Investigations. Bell is charged with two counts of Felony theft by deception. She was taken to the Lowndes County Jail.

Everyone needs to be aware of the increased number of scams in the area. Do not send money to an unknown source.
