ATLANTA (AP) -- The average compensation for CEOs of top Georgia
companies saw only a slight decline last year. According to an
Atlanta Journal-Constitution study at the same time salaries for
top corporate bosses were dropping significantly across the country
The newspaper's study was based on the most recent proxy
statements from companies.
Some Georgia CEOs received dramatic increases, the AJC study
The AJC study showed more than half the CEOs at Georgia's 25
largest public companies saw their compensation fall in 2009. But
median pay -- what the CEO in the middle of the earning range
received -- actually inched up less than 1 percent, according to the
review of the proxy statements by The AJC.
