This week workers with Grady EMC have been working diligently restoring power to nearly 10,000 homes in Grady, Thomas and Decatur Counties.

Officials say Sixty employees along with outside contractors have been working into the early morning hours, sometimes even catching up on sleep in the office.

However workers say their biggest challenge has been getting to homes on washed out roads, where trucks would have to be pulled out of the mud.

" We certainly appreciate the understanding and the patience and cooperation of the people that have been affected by this storm we know its frustrating we know its confusing but we so much appreciate the attitude that they have responded to us," said Donnie Prince, Grady EMC manager.

Officials from Grady EMC urge residents to start preparing early for future storms.
