ATLANTA (AP) _ Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue has ordered flags flown at half-staff on state government buildings and grounds in honor of those who were killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Thursday marks the seventh anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Virginia.
President Bush and the U.S. Congress have designated September 11 as Patriot Day.
Perdue said the courage Americans showed in the terrorist attacks ``continues to inspire us as we vow to never forget those that lost their lives on that day.''
The flags will remain at half staff until sunset Thursday.
