In today's health matters, optometrists are reminding parents to add an eye exam to your child's back to school checklist.
From computer programs to hand held devices, technology is a part of the classroom. The American Optometric Association says healthy eyes at the start of the school year can help avoid some learning difficulties in class.
Optometrists say giving your eyes a break from those computer screens every once in a while is a necessity.
They suggest following the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes you look away for 20 feet for 20 seconds and this gives the eyes a chance to relax.
