In today's health matters, parents of a terminally ill 2-year-old in Canada say they're grateful to the dozens of donors who have helped keep their daughter alive.
They held a special birthday party to celebrate. There's cake, balloons and pizza. But this is not your typical toddler's birthday party.
Olivia is terminally ill. One of only two people in the country with Pearson Syndrome. She needs regular transfusions of blood weekly. Dozens of people showed up to donate.
Forty-six units of blood were donated in Olivia's honor. Enough to save over 100 lives.
For the Reardon family, the turnout was touching. The most precious gift for their child, time not toys.
