Health Matters: Girls and Behavioral Problems

In today's Health Matters, A new study has found another potential health risk of Bisphenol A.

According to researchers, girls may develop behavioral problems by the time they turn three if their mothers ate food stored in containers that have BPA while pregnant.

The study was published in the journal Pediatrics.

BPA is a chemical used to make plastic. It interferes with how hormones work in the body.

Researchers found the girls in the study were more likely to show signs of hyperactivity, anxiety and depression.

There's no explanation why girls are affected and not boys.
