Researchers reviewed more than a hundred previous studies on exercise. They found both exercise and strength training are key to brain health, development and cognitive thinking. The team believes the boost in brain chemicals may be one of the reasons for the benefits.
However they suggest more research to determine how exercise affects brain structure and function.
Findings appear in the 'journal of applied physiology.'
