A new study suggests powerful chemotherapy drugs do not harm the fetus. On the contrary, pre-term delivery to avoid subjecting the fetus to chemotherapy is actually more harmful.
That's according to a new research conducted by cancer experts in Europe. Experts say the results show there is no need for pregnant cancer patients to have abortions or delay their treatment beyond the first trimester.
And doctors should avoid inducing early birth if at all possible. The study was presented at the European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress in Stockholm.
