In today's health matters, if your child is younger than two, the American Academy of Pediatrics, or AAP, says keep them away from electronic media.
The doctors group says free play helps kids under two learn to think creatively, problem solve and develop reasoning and motor skills. It also teaches them how to entertain themselves.
The AAP says if parents choose to let their kids watch TV or videos, they need to set limits on viewing time and have a strategy for managing use.
The new policy statement will be published in the November print issue of the Journal 'Pediatrics.'
