Health Matters: More Fiber to Your Diet

In today's health matters, It's long been said Americans should get more fiber in their diet.

Health experts say for every gram of fiber you eat, it cancels out about seven calories because fiber binds to other types of calories to prevent them from getting digested and absorbed.

But how do you eat more fiber? Here are a few tips: Use bean flour instead of bread crumbs when cooking chicken or fish, add oats to a smoothie, add chia seeds to a salad dressing or swap shredded veggies for ground meat or starches like pasta. Also, make sure to drink plenty of water.
