In today's health matters, your routine chores may help keep dementia away.

Seniors who expend most of their energy doing chores and running errands were less likely to experience mental decline as they age.

Study authors say all these chores get peoples heart rate up and keeps your blood pumping. They say exercise doesn't have to be at the gym. Just getting off the sofa and moving shows benefit as well.

Findings appear in the 'Archives of Internal Medicine.'
