Also in today's health matters, attention all morning smokers ....
A new study shows lighting up shortly after waking up nearly doubles your risk of developing cancer.
US researchers say people who indulge in an early morning cigarette may inhale more smoke into their lungs and tend to smoke each cigarette more intensively, according to a study published in a journal of the American Cancer Society.
It reports subjects who smoked their first cigarette in their first half-hour of being awake are nearly eighty-percent more likely to develop lung cancer than those who wait at least an hour.
The study surveyed more than 7500 smokers. Close to 5000 of them had lung cancer while the remaining smokers did not.
