This summer it may be one of the most popular places in the backyard -- the trampoline.
But, you may be surprised to learn that the official recommendation from the American Academy of Pediatrics is to avoid them.
Pediatricians say they see lots of extremity injuries, broken bones, torn up knees and worn ankle joints.
Doctor says the biggest problem seems to be kids falling off the trampoline or daredevil-type shenanigans.
If you have one, make rules and stick to them.
You need to have a trampoline that's well built with safety netting. And, you need to have strict rules about one child at a time, no serious rough housing and no flips.
You should also have parent supervision every time the kids are on the trampoline.
