If you've been on a diet more than once in your life it's time to rejoice.
A new study suggests it's better to attempt to lose weight and fail repeatedly than to never diet and remain obese.
Ohio University researchers used mice to do what they considered the first controlled study of yo-yo dieting over a life span.
They used thirty mice and broke them down into three groups.
Each group followed either a high fat, low fat or a yo-yo diet through their life span.
The team averaged the fluctuations in blood sugar and body weight in the yo-yo dieters and found they actually lived 35% longer than those on the constant high or low-fat diets.
