Here's something many women have long said birth control should be free under health care plans.
The Institute of Medicine made that recommendation on Tuesday.
The independent, nonprofit organization gives advice to lawmakers.
It says women should not have to pay deductibles or co-pays for contraceptives, sterilization or reproductive education.
Under most health insurance plans, birth control is partially covered.
The Institute says in 2001, 49% of all pregnancies in the United States weren't intentional and that unplanned pregnancies have a direct bearing on rising health care costs.
The Department of Health and Human Services says it is reviewing the report.
