Apples, 3 baking apples, peeled, cored, cut in half, cut into 1/8” slices
Egg wash (equal parts egg and water)
Using a prepared puff pastry dough:
•Sheet dough to 13”x5” strip; dock the dough (prick with a fork) all over
•Cut 2 – 13”x ¾” strips, and dock these with a fork as well.
•Carefully wash the edges of the 5” strip and place the side “rails” on top
•Keep dough well-chilled prior to make-up
•Arrange the sliced apples evenly across the top of the dough strip
•Brush the apples with melted butter and sprinkle with a moderate amount of cinnamon sugar
•Return the dough to the refrigerator for 20 minutes before baking
•Bake in a 400°F oven for approximately 30 minutes, until dough is well-puffed and apples are tender.
•Serve warm with ice cream
