Action Packed Week for Sports Fans

The week ahead can make or break some seasons for teams in our area. We start with Valdosta State. On Thursday night they welcome 2nd ranked North Alabama to Bazemore-Hyder Stadium in a Gulf South Conference clash. The Blazers are looking to keep their playoff dreams alive. In the GSC, VSU is tied for second with three other teams with two conference loses heading into the home stretch of the season. An upset over the Lions will certainly help their odds of making a postseason run.
It's Homecoming week for the FAMU Rattlers as they take on Norfolk State. The Rattlers are coming off a tough loss at the hands of the South Carolina State Bulldogs. Right now the Rattlers sit second in the MEAC, making every game crucial if they want to make the playoffs.
Sticking with football, Florida State will travel to North Carolina to take on the Tar Heels in a Thursday night match. The Seminoles are still in search of their first conference win, and as crazy as it sounds, Florida State is still alive for the ACC's Atlantic Division, but they need a win in Chapel Hill in front of a national audience to show the country that Florida State Football has not given up just yet.
The FSU-UNC football game will not be the only contest between the schools on Thursday night. In Tallahassee at the Seminole Soccer Complex the 3rd ranked Tar Heels take on 5th ranked Florida State in a black out match. With both teams having one conference loss, the winner sits in the drivers seat for a number one seed in the ACC.
