TCCHS Football to play for Region Title

Week by week the Thomas County Central football team has improved. They have rallied off seven straight wins, going 6-0 in Region 1-4A, and will play for the Region Championship against Wes tide Macon, Friday night at the Jackets Nest.
Thomas County Central Head Football Coach Bill Shaver says,
"We came into the season with a lot of question marks and didn't really know where we'd be and I told the Booster Club the other night, Monday night, that at this point in the season if we were (7-1) and playing Westside for the Region championship I'd say how much you want for that deal. We're real proud of where we are."
Thomas County Central Junior Quarterback Eric Dodson adds,
"We've really built some momentum offensively, which was key because defensively we knew it would be there and would take us a while for offense to get it under control and now we're starting to put up points and our defense is playing very well and now we're starting to balance our team out even better."
The Yellow Jackets were in the same situation last season. A road trip to Macon for the Region title, but Thomas County Central came on the short end of a 51-0 loss.
Bill Shaver adds,
"It was one of those nights we went up there and everything went wrong. When everything goes wrong and you play a good team they're going to make you look bad. We had our three time all region center snap the ball over our quarterback's head and we had receivers dropping passes that went straight to their DB's for interceptions and we had DB's letting fly routes go past them for touchdowns so it wasn't a good night for the Yellow Jackets."
Friday night the jackets will recognize their fifteen seniors and what better way to honor them than with a region title.
