Huntsville, AL - Valdosta State blocked its way past Alabama-Huntsville Friday night to move to 12-5 overall and 3-1 in the Gulf South Conference.

After VSU fell in the first set, the Blazers turned it on to come back from a 21-16 deficit to win 27-25 in the second set. Irene Hannan and Ruthie King hit consecutive kills to make it a three-point game. King, Tania Tauiliili, Katie Onushko teamed up to attack the Chargers from there.

The trio tallied four points down the stretch. With an ace from Chelsea Luttfring and UAH errors, the Blazers pulled out the win. Then Valdosta State finished strong with 25-21 and 25-20 wins to claim the match, 3-1.
