Coach Sue Semrau is doing whatever it takes this week to show her face around Tallahassee, in hopes of garnering support for the Garnet and Gold as they get set for the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
Coach Semrau says, "March Madness is here and we get to host the NCAA tournament in Tallahassee, so we're out selling tickets and inviting people to come out and join us and make this a great atmosphere for women's basketball."
With the help of her players, Coach Semrau hopes to sell at least three thousand tickets this week to pack the Civic Center, chosen as one of the 16 host sites for the first and second rounds. It's a huge advantage in the final field of 64.
Semrau adds, "You know, we've had great success at home. We've only lost one game at home this year and that was to the number one team in the country. When you're talking about the NCAA tournament, now you're talking about the biggest stage that there is. And to be able to have your home fans behind you, it couldn't be bigger than this."
As the Noles get set for their post-season adventure, Coach Semrau is making sure the community is coming along for the ride.
