The football world has several stories to be told... None bigger than new developments in the nfc south... An atlanta falcons playoff party was spoiled monday night by the new orleans saints... The 17-14 victory gave the defending super bowl champs a spot in the postseason and means the birds must win next week in order to claim homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. “Wasn't our best effort and that has everything to do with how we played,” said Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith.

But the storylines aren't just of the professional kind... The college bowl season is well underway and local favorites are putting on the finishing touches to their 2010 bowl debuts... New Year's Eve has the South Florida Bulls in Charlotte, NC for the Meineke Car Care Bowl... That's a noon kick against Clemson.

In El Paso, Texas, the Miami Hurricanes are counting down the days until their chance at damaging Notre Dame in the Sun Bowl... It's a 2pm kick only on WCTV...

And you can't forget about the Georgia Bulldogs who at (6-6) hope to write a happy ending to their rocky season... Their Liberty Bowl showdown with Central Florida will not be easy... While it is Georgia's 14th straight trip to a bowl game, they must win in order to avoid signing their name on the Dawgs first losing season since 1996.
