The number of people diagnosed with the Swine Flu in the U.S. has doubled since Sunday, and by Monday it's up to 40 confirmed cases.
That pales in comparison to Mexico where about two- thousand are suspected of having the illness and more than a hundred may have died from it.
The Department of Homeland Security declared a public health emergency Sunday.
The Centers for Disease Control and the Florida Department of Health say the symptoms include: fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue as well as possible diarrhea and vomiting.
"At this time we have no cases in Florida and we can't stress enough to the public that this is not a time to panic but rather a time to prepare," says Susan Smith, a spokesperson for the Florida Department of Health.
Health officials say to protect yourself from the swine flu, you should avoid contact with sick people, stay home when you're sick, cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, wash your hands often and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
They also say the illness is spread from person to person and not by eating pork.

Ummm, Reading all of this...It's not the end times, This has to be more convincing and a really more logical explanation is needed for this,Currently Swine flu here in the US is not a possible threat but still the CDC is being cautious even though we have 1 confirmed death in the US, And currently vaccines are being worked on in the process but will usually take 6 months give or take, And we've been through a swine flu epidemic before and that was as far as 30 years ago.
U are all a bunch of nutcase's, Don't panic over this..it is NOT THE END OF TIMES! The CDC did this same thing when the bird flu and MRSA came out. Our office had ton's of calls about the MRSA as well. Just watch for the symptoms and if your fever spikes & stays high w/the other symptoms..see your Dr., the world has had types of these disease's before and will cont. to have diff. strands, NOT THE END OF TIME...
