In today's Health Matters, new research shows coffee may help ward off Basal Cell Carcinoma, the most common type of skin cancer.
The findings, presented in Boston this week, follow a study of more than 110,000 adults over more than 20 years.
The study found women drinking more than three cups of coffee per day have a 20 percent lower risk of developing BCC than those who drink less than a cup per month.
Men who drink that much coffee saw a nine percent lower risk than men who rarely drink coffee. The study found drinking coffee did not affect the risk of developing the two other forms of skin cancer.
