TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles says two employees working at the Neil Kirkman Building on Apalachee Parkway in Tallahassee have tested positive for COVID-19.

FLHSMV says, in each case, the department decontaminated the facility and notified those who may have been in contact with those who tested positive, following CDC and state guidelines.

The department adds they have taken “numerous” measures to ensure the safety of all of their employees and anyone who enters a facility, including making masks available to all employees and requiring them to be worn inside the building where social distancing is not applicable, allowing employees to work from home (they say, currently, about 70% are), requiring a screening process of anyone who enters the building which includes temperature checks and increasing daily sanitation efforts.

As of Wednesday’s 11 a.m. update, Leon County had 2,606 COVID-19 cases.
