Cooking with Will - Pulled Pork Sandwiches

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - WCTV chef Will Ward makes pulled pork sandwiches on the Weekend Good Morning Show.

Pulled Pork

4-5 lbs pork butt

1 liter Coca-Cola or Dr. Pepper

1 Tablespoon each:

Ground Mustard

Garlic powder



1 tsp. cayenne pepper

  • Cut the pork into smaller pieces rub the spices on and place in a croc pot with the soda for 5-8 hours or until fork tender
  • Let stand for 30 minutes and shred

BBQ Sauce

2 cups ketchup

1 cup water

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

5 tablespoons light brown sugar

5 tablespoons sugar

1/2 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper

1/2 tablespoon onion powder

1/2 tablespoon ground mustard

1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • Mix all the ingredients together and place over medium high heat until it boils
  • Bring the heat to its lowest setting and reduce for 60-90 minutes

Vegan BBQ

1lb Mushrooms

1 batch bbq sauce (recipe above)

  1. Wash and chop the mushrooms
  2. Toss the mushrooms in the sauce and let marinate for at least one hour and up to 24 hours
  3. Place the mushrooms in a non stick pan over medium heat and heat through, or place in a 300 degree oven for 30-45 minutes
