Cooking with Will - Pulled Pork Sandwiches

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - WCTV chef Will Ward makes pulled pork sandwiches on the Weekend Good Morning Show.
Pulled Pork
4-5 lbs pork butt
1 liter Coca-Cola or Dr. Pepper
1 Tablespoon each:
Ground Mustard
Garlic powder
Salt
Pepper
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
- Cut the pork into smaller pieces rub the spices on and place in a croc pot with the soda for 5-8 hours or until fork tender
- Let stand for 30 minutes and shred
BBQ Sauce
2 cups ketchup
1 cup water
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
5 tablespoons light brown sugar
5 tablespoons sugar
1/2 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
1/2 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 tablespoon ground mustard
1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Mix all the ingredients together and place over medium high heat until it boils
- Bring the heat to its lowest setting and reduce for 60-90 minutes
Vegan BBQ
1lb Mushrooms
1 batch bbq sauce (recipe above)
- Wash and chop the mushrooms
- Toss the mushrooms in the sauce and let marinate for at least one hour and up to 24 hours
- Place the mushrooms in a non stick pan over medium heat and heat through, or place in a 300 degree oven for 30-45 minutes
