Deadly crash in Wakulla County

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting a deadly crash on Bloxham Cutoff Road in North Wakulla County.

According to FHP’s online “crash map,” the crash happened near the intersection of Rosa Shingles Road around 2:01 a.m. Friday.

FHP released a crash report around 8:30 a.m. Friday. The report says it was a single-vehicle rollover crash. The driver was traveling west on State Road 267, and as they passed Rosa Shingles Road, the car exited the road to the right onto the north shoulder.

The car started to rotate as it traveled in the ditch and then began to overturn. The car overturned multiple times and came to a rest facing southwest on the north shoulder of the road, with the front end partially in the road, the FHP report says.

A 52-year-old woman from Bristol, Florida, was the driver who died in the crash. No one else was in the car with her.

A caller into the WCTV newsroom states there is heavy police activity and the road was shutdown. The scene was cleared by 10 a.m. Friday.
