TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Former Florida State University wide receiver Travis Rudolph has been arrested on murder charges in Palm Beach County.

A press release from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a double shooting following a fight in the 500 block of N. Redwood Drive in Lake Park a little after midnight Wednesday.

A man was taken to a hospital in the area for treatment of his injuries, while another man, who deputies located in West Palm Beach, died from his injuries, the release says.

According to the PBCSO booking website, Rudolph was booked into jail around 8 a.m. Wednesday. The sheriff’s office says he faces charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

He is being held without bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, April 8, the sheriff’s office says.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers, a Canadian Football League team, released Rudolph after learning about his arrest, according to a tweet from the team’s senior director of public and player relations.

Rudolph, 25, played for FSU from 2014 to 2016.
