TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The State Attorney’s Office has dropped fraud and theft charges against a Tallahassee contractor, according to court documents.

Craig Ross of Ross Construction and Design was arrested on fraud and theft charges on July 24, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest came after Travis Sparkman, the owner of TSpark Enterprises construction business, issued a statement to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office back on August 29, 2019.

On August 6, 2020, State Attorney Jack Campbell dropped the case against Ross.

“There is insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that there was an intent to defraud Sparkman’s company or the client,” court documents say. “Ross has provided $965 that Sparkman had to spend on the job; the State will tender that money to Sparkman. Based on all the circumstances, the state dismisses this case.”
