TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The City of Tallahassee says two people have been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting at the Griffin Heights Apartments on April 29.

The press release says the Tallahassee Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Basin Street just after 11:30 p.m. that day after receiving calls about a shooting in the area. When officers first arrived, they discovered a crime scene where it appeared the shooting happened, but no victims were there.

“A short time later, one victim, an adult male, arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound,” the release says. “Sadly, the victim later succumbed to his injuries.”

Another victim showed up at an unrelated traffic stop and he was immediately taken to a hospital in the area, since he had serious injuries, the city says.

The city says TPD quickly identified two suspects and obtained a search warrant for a home in the 1400 block of Balboa Drive. Several pieces of evidence were found at the home, and the suspects were arrested.

Mar’Queze Hill, 18, faces a homicide charge, while 22-year-old Naomi Jackson faces a charge of accessory after the fact.
