Tallahassee Ballet’s Dancing in the Streets a virtual success
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A couple months ago, WCTV attended rehearsals for the Tallahassee ballet’s “Dancing in the Streets.”
Now, the virtual performance is up and running. The show features Tallahassee artists twirling in locations across the Big Bend including Florida State University, St. Theresa in Franklin county and the woods of Gadsden county. The show was inspired by Martha Reeves & the Vandellas hit, “Dancing in the Streets.”
“There’s a hit, a 1964 hit, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas Dancing in the Streets and it’s just everything about coming together as a nation to celebrate, you know, and just having a good time, you know, and that’s what we needed at the moment,” Artistic Director with the Tallahassee Ballet Tyrone Brooks said.
Brooks’ ballet also says the show wouldn’t have been possible without his choreographers and dancers that made the performance a success.
