TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Florida A&M University athletic program has announced contract extensions for three of their head coaches.

Head football coach Willie Simmons, head men’s basketball coach Robert McCullum and head women’s basketball coach Shalon Pillow have signed extensions to keep them on the Highest of the Seven Hills until 2025 (Simmons) and 2024 (McCullum, Pillow), respectively.

The 2021 football season will mark the third season at the helm of the Rattlers for Simmons, who led the Fangs to a 9-2 record in 2019, helping FAMU finish in the Top 25 in both the STATS FCS Poll (24th) and FCS Coaches Poll (25th).

FAMU did not play a football season this past fall or spring.

McCullum has patrolled the bench for the Rattlers’ men’s basketball team since 2017 and has compiled a 33-27 conference record in FAMU’s last four seasons as members of the MEAC.

Pillow was named head coach of the FAMU women’s program last May, but has yet to coach the Lady Rattlers in a game after the team sat out last season out due to COVID-19 concerns.
