Tallahassee Police investigating after child injured during shooting at apartment complex

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - UPDATE - The child, 7, has non life-threatening injuries following this shooting.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Tallahassee Police Department is on the scene of a shooting in the 2800 block of South Adams Street.

Witnesses at the scene tell WCTV they saw two men get out of a car then heard four or five shots.

The witnesses also said they saw someone being taken away in an ambulance.

TPD said there is one victim, a 7-year-old child, who suffered injuries. It is unknown what the extent of those injuries is, but the child was taken to the hospital, TPD said Friday.

Investigators ask anyone who may have witnessed the shooting, but did not speak with an officer on scene, to please call 850-891-4200. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
