WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WCTV) - Former Florida State ace Drew Parrish made his Olympic qualifying debut for the United States Friday night as the U.S. defeated Canada, 10-1, in the Baseball Americas Qualifier Super Round.

The U.S. can clinch a spot in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a win Saturday night against Venezuela.

Parrish, who earned the victory for the U.S., pitched 2.0 innings of scoreless relief of former MLB ace Homer Bailey, allowing two hits and striking out two.

The U.S. exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to help seal the deal.

First pitch Saturday between the Americans and Venezuelans is set for 7 p.m. from West Palm Beach.
