Hannah’s Sunday, June 6 evening update
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Good evening! A few thunderstorms moved through the Big Bend and South Georgia Sunday. Northern Taylor County received just under two inches of rain. Parts of Gadsden County received 1.5 inches, and southern Thomas County saw just under half an inch.
Showers will linger across the area Sunday nigth, especially in the eastern Big Bend. Afterward, we’ll have a mostly cloudy sky with temperatures in the low to mid-70s.
Monday morning, we’ll wake up to a mostly cloudy sky. In the afternoon, we’ll have a partly to mostly cloudy sky with a chance for scattered showers and storms. Storms will begin to develop in the early afternoon along the coast and move north towards South Georgia through the late afternoon and into the early evening. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s.
Scattered showers continue on Tuesday but begin to slowly taper off by Wednesday and through the end of the week, thanks to an upper-level high in the Gulf of Mexico. This doesn’t mean rain chances will be zero. Isolated to scattered showers and storms will still be possible throughout the week. However, the storms will not be as widespread. Temperatures will climb back into the low 90s in the middle of the week and continue through the end of the week.
